Erich believes that aliens came to Earth centuries ago to help build the pyramids. In fact the aliens visited Roswell in 1947 and now their remains are kept at Wright Patterson Air Force Base area C. Some of you accept a religion built around the war that took place between two groups of aliens, leaving the defeated group stranded on Earth to rule man from places unknown. Of course you are right.
Richard claims that Ohio is the country's most haunted state. There is now a DVD to back up the claims. The host of the documentary is a “well versed historian”. It's now on TV; it must be true.
Most everyone is aware of the “sacred cow” of the Hindus. Were you aware that the Hindus have a temple to the rat. Worshipers bring their sacrifices to the rat gods as they roam the halls of this temple freely, surviving on their generosity. The millions of deaths from starvation and disease in India feed the cycle of history. The Hindu is so peaceful, so of course he is right.
Mark and Abraham believe that God does not exist. Charles Darwin gives them the scientific evidence to back up their belief. Theologian Paul Van Buren provides the religious backing to bolster this belief. John Chancellor was always right when he reported the news to the American people, so when he admits that he does not believe in God that adds a great measure of respectability to their belief. Finally, when actor George C. Scott states that he “did not believe in God at all”, well that seals the deal. Someone as famous as George C. Scott can't be wrong.
Osama believes that Jesus Christ never resurrected from the dead. He and millions of other Muslims believe that Mohammed was the last and greatest of the prophets. After all the media has assured us these are peaceful people. Millions of Arabs cannot possibly be wrong.
Dan says that Jesus Christ was buried in a shallow grave outside of Jerusalem and his body was carried away by wild dogs. Two blockbuster movies were made based on his writings. He must be right if so many people voted with their hard earned money for these films.
How is it that you get so upset when I claim to be right? Of course I am right. America has fully embraced the philosophies of post modernism. Philosophies that claim that every man has the right to believe whatever he chooses, and that if he believes it to be true then it is true to him.
So if I believe that Erich, Richard, the whole Hindu world, Mark, Abe, Paul, John, George, Osama, and Dan are all wrong I must be right. Who are you to tell me that I am not? I know that begs the question, “who am I to tell all these other people that they are wrong?” The fact is your philosophy that “if it is true for you then it is true” is wrong. I can't believe in something so obviously self contradictory. I choose to believe that the one true living God revealed Himself in Holy Scripture, and therein lies the “true truth”. It is these scriptures that belie all of the beliefs formerly mentioned.
Belief in the Bible is based on the reasonableness of the claims of the Bible, because of the impossibility of the contrary. To claim that the scripture, as revealed by the creator, is the only truth is the epitome of humility. To claim that anything else is true, just because you believe it, is the epitome of arrogance. Finally, think about this: no matter whose standard you want to use to determine right, I am right. Your standard states that everyone is right. Using the standard of Biblical Christianity, in as much as I understand the Bible correctly I am still right. Of course I am right ;) |
